Klip

Motivation

Over the years I’ve lived in various rental accomodations where there were was always the same rule; no permanent alterations could be made to the house (which is fair enough). However, as a houseplant fan, I had plans to decorate each house with plants galore!

I really wanted to hang some plants on the wall, but couldn’t find any existing hardware to hang fix them to wall in a way that didn’t require any permanent fixings, screws, nails, or tools. Thus, I made Klip!

What is Klip?

Klip

Klip allows you to hang a houseplant on a wall in a renter-friendly fashion, requiring no permanent alterations to your walls. A clip on the front grabs the plant pot, and command strips on the back secure it to the wall. A removeable tray catches any drips.

The command strips can handle up to 8kg, and from all the plants I tested, none were heavier than 3kg, so there’s a decent 2.7x safety factor.

Klip works with standard terracotta plant pots, and is mostly invisible behind the pot, making the plants seem like they’re floating in air!
